Obituary for Agnesanne Welke

Agnesanne Welke nee Murray, 86. peacefully went home to be with the Lord on May 28th 2022, Agnesanne, affectionately known as "Double A", was born on the south side of Chicago to James H. and Agnes L. ( Flynn) Murray. She was a devout Catholic, and an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist in Streamwood for 46 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary 12801, the bereavement ministry, she taught religious education, and participated in multiple bible studies, She was an avid walker and enjoyed bowling and she participated in several leagues . Mom also enjoyed travelling to family events. She was married to Fred for 57 years before his death in 2019.

Agnesanne is survived by her children Jim, Beth, John ( Donna Thill ), many cousins, as well as multiple generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frederick C. Welke, Jr., her son Frederick G., siblings John, Jim, Dick (Beverly), Marycollette ( Bob Higney), Dan and Bob (Joan) Murray and her 3 furry friends Cheerful, Twinkle and Sneakers.

Agnesanne was very proud of her Southside Irish roots, enjoyed playing Scrabble, doing word finds, spending time in daily prayer, reading the newspapers, watching the news Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. And of course, being a south sider, watching the White Sox play.

Visitation Thursday June 2, 2022 3:00pm until 8:00pm at The Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood. Funeral Friday June 3, 2022 Prayers at the funeral home at 11:15am to St John the Evangelist Catholic Church for Mass 12noon. Buria to follow in St Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park.

In lieu of flowers, masses would be appreciated or donations to Catholic Charities Northwest Suburban Office Community Care Program In Arlington Heights. This was the program that enabled her husband to live at home for many years.
