Obituary for Alan Wosz

Alan (Al) W. Wosz, 71, of Streamwood, IL passed away suddenly at home Tuesday March 23rd.

Al was born May 31, 1949 to the late Walter and Florence Wosz. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert, sister Carol and son-in-law Derek.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Linda (Batjes), his five children Toni (Orrin) Shatava, Carrie, Jim (Shanon), Susie and Cindy. His four grandchildren Jonathan, Alexis, Brody and Aubrey; his siblings Jerry (Alice), Rick, Larry and Patty (Sal); and many nieces and nephews.

Al was born in Chicago and moved to Streamwood where he lived for 45 years. He was a proud decorated Vietnam Veteran. Al was a hard working mechanic and family man who loved playing/talking about his toys (remote controlled cars, planes and boats). He loved to go fishing (a good nap, “resting my eye lids”). Al looked forward to being with family giving “sweet kiss” and playing cards. He would drop everything to help you out or even give the shirt off his back. Al was a big kid at heart and enjoyed being with the kids/grandkids. He also loved animals, especially his aka service dog Simba. Al was a member of the Moose, VFW, American Legion, Elgin Rifle Club, Tri Village RC’ers and many more.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Al’s name to either Vietnam Veteran of America www.vva.org or Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital www.hines.va.gov.
