ANDRZEJ OBROCHTA, 77
Andrzej Obrochta of Elgin, IL, passed away on October 5, 2019.
Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. on October 11, 2019 at Countryside Funeral Home, Bartlett, IL. Following the visitation, mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Damian Catholic Church, Bartlett, IL. Burial will follow the mass at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 1S510 Winfield Road Wheaton IL 60189.
Andrzej was born in Stare Bystre, Poland on September 10, 1942. He married Mary Obrochta (Obrochta) June of 1965; they were married 54 years.
Andrzej joined Mary in America in 1966 and began working for Armstrong Bros. Tool Company in Chicago, IL. He retired from Armstrong in 1989 and moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado with Mary and their two younger daughters to own and operate the Frontier Lodge Motel. He enjoyed biking, hiking, skiing and mushroom picking in the forests surrounding the mountains around Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Eventually, returning back to Illinois to enjoy his retirement playing and watching his grandchildren in all their many dance, musical, and sports activities.
Andzrej is survived by his three daughters, Bernadette Wiss and her husband, Philip Wiss, Renee Kefalas and her husband, Charles Kefalas, and Krystine Obrochta; and his five grandchildren, Alexandria and Andrew Wiss, Carissa, Cassandra, and Carson Kefalas.
