Ann Abraham, was born November 7, 1929 and as she often told, in a cab on the way to the hospital. She was one of eight children born to the late Zaia and Almas Malham.
Ann was a longtime resident of Streamwood, IL, moving there from Chicago with her family in 1965. She was a loving wife to Ben for almost 67 years; devoted mother to Michelle (Kerry) Kohlbacher of Crystal Lake, Christine of Streamwood and Matthew of Villa Park; proud 'Nanee' of Shea (Lynn) Hanson and Kerry Luke Kohlbacher. She was a dear sister and sister-in-law, and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
From her childhood in Chicago and Gary, Ann was always happy, outgoing and enjoyed life. She had fond memories of family outings at Miller Beach. In 1948, she graduated from Emerson High School in Gary, Indiana. She loved to dance and to attend dances. It was at one dance where she met her future husband, Ben, who was playing in the band. She often said she knew he was 'the one' as soon as she saw him. It was love at first sight!
In the early 1950's, along with her sister Helen, Ann worked at Illlinois Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. One talent she seemed to retain for life from that job, was the ability to clearly provide a phone number when speaking over the phone – something us kids referred to as Mom's phone voice!
Ann was involved in school activities for her own children, as well as with her grandchildren; attending sporting events, school concerts and parties.

Ann loved her family; her family was everything! She poured her love into her delicious cooking; always making enough to fill a tupperware container for you to take home.
Ann was a longtime parishoner at St. John the Evangelist Church, where she was involved in many ministries: Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, Catechist, daily mass attendee and others. In October 2006, Ann was recognized with the Christifideles award by Cardinal George at Holy Name Cathedral.
Ann was always willing to help anyone, anytime, anywhere. She was a shining light; selfless, loving, caring and giving. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.

Auntie Ann was my favorite aunt. She was kind, patient, liked to laugh and have fun, she was nice to everyone. We would come into Chicago and always had to go to Auntie Ann and Uncle Benny’s house. We would sit around their table, have dinner and talk and laugh. It was always so much fun. You are going to be so very missed. You were the glue that held this family together. We will miss you Aunty! Give our family hugs and kisses when you see them!
