Obituary for Anne Jester

Anne Jester (nee Burke), 98 of Des Plaines, formerly Chicago, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Clare Oaks of Bartlett. Born February 10, 1921 in Paisley Scotland, one of 9 children of John and Rose Burke (nee Craigen). Her family moved from Scotland to Canada when she was 8. She was preceded in death by her siblings Tom, Margaret, John, James, Mary, Gerald, Frank, and Theresa. Beloved Wife of 56 years to Bill; loving Mom of Debra (George Arteaga) and Sandra (Jerome Dudzik); cherished grandma to George (Melissa) Arteaga and Bill (Julia) Arteaga; great grandma of Henry and Eloise; beloved Aunt to nieces and nephews both in Chicago and other US cities and across Canada. Anne worked many years as a Teacher’s Aide at Senn High School in Chicago. She often tutored students who needed help with Math. She was an amazing seamstress, a card shark when it came to Pinochle, she enjoyed Bridge, was an excellent baker, and she took up playing the organ in her retirement.
Visitation Wednesday October 30, 2019 9:00am until time of prayers 11:15am at The Countryside Funeral Homes, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood. Mass 12 noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Streamwood. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sunday Mass at Mercy Home or Clare Oaks of Bartlett.
