I had the pleasure of 69 years with this woman. She was a kind, caring and giving person. Was she perfect, no, but she grew up in a silent world not hearing a sound for 93 years and did not let that stop her from anything. She was a dynamo and never was intimidated by anyone (that I ever saw). Her smile would light up whenever she saw me coming with my kids when they were little, as well as when they came as adults and, very, very proud of her great grandson, Lucas who she missed when he was away at college and couldn't wait to see him and his infectious smile and hugs. The best thing is her back scratches. We would always have her scratch all our backs until she tired later in life. (But, what no one knew, up until Hospice, she still scratched mine).

Yes, Annie Gordon Halliday Brown, was loved by many but none as much as her family. I had the pleasure of caring for her until the end. I miss her very, very much but I know she is in the Lord's loving hands.

Shirley Brown Malloy Lance, until we meet again Mom.
