Carol Jean Nanna, 73, a loving wife, mother, grandmother (“Mum”), aunt, friend and mentor, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday March 24.

It’s hard to sum up Carol in just a few words as she meant so much to so many people. She will be remembered as an avid golfer, fantastic dancer (she and her husband, Tom, tore up the dance floor), Christmas cookie master and chief spaghetti and meatball officer (her kids are trying hard to replicate…it’s not going well). And let’s not forget her iconic and infectious laugh, which lit up every room. Her beautiful grandchildren, Giada (12), Milana (9) and Nicky (6) will miss their “mum’s” waffles and homemade syrup in addition to her many hugs and kisses.

A two-time breast cancer survivor, Carol was known as a fighter. Her strength helped many others going through similar treatment. Unfortunately, it was the ugly disease that ultimately took her too soon.

Carol is survived by her husband Tom, son Todd (Misty, Giada, Milana, Nicky), daughter Julie (Phil), brothers Fred and Tim (Sharon) and sister Betts.

A memorial service will be held at a later date when we can properly celebrate with more than 50 people – as we know it will be a packed house. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her memory to the Susan G Komen foundation.

Tom and family......We can’t begin to express how broken our hearts are. Memories of United, ski trips and our get togethers with our own little group all come back to us. We are so sorry for your loss but knowing Carol, she would want all of you to be strong and remember all the good times to ease your pain. Rest In Peace our dear friend.

My heart hurts. Such a lovely lady. Always a smile and a laugh and a welcoming spirit.
