Obituary for Dolores Fleming (Keeney)

Dolores Jean Keeney Fleming, 86, joyfully followed her beloved husband, the late Tom Fleming (2016) into paradise on May 23, 2018. A longtime resident of Niles and Huntley, she is survived by her favorite daughter Colleen (Wauwatosa, WI), her other favorite daughter Sheila (Schaumburg), her other favorite daughter Maureen (Grand Rapid, MI), honorary Keeney, Sarah Davis, and numerous devoted cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Anna, and her six siblings Jackie, Joseph, Patricia, Jimmie, Marie, and Paul.

> Dolores was a proud Chicagoan and graduate of St. Patrick’s HS for Girls. She was proud of her work at the Burlington Railroad and Koenig and Strey, but her greatest joy was raising her girls to be strong, sarcastic, witty, and independent, just like her. “Ma Fleming” will be dearly missed by her kids’ friends. An invite to one of her High Teas was as valuable as a ticket to a royal wedding. Fiercely Irish and Catholic to the end, she passed listening to Tommy Makem and the rosary.

The family would like thank Heartland Hospice, especially RNs Linda and Marti who traveled these last six months with her, as well as the 2nd floor team at Addolorata Villa for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be made to Franciscan Ministries.org or Misericordia.
