Donald "Don" C. Schrubbe, 75, of Elgin, Died Monday, November 25, 2019 in Elgin. Born October 30, 1944 in Chicago. Don enjoyed his 1978 Corvette, was a gun enthusiast and liked to hunt deer. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughters and cheering them on at their sporting events. Beloved husband of 50 years to Linda (nee Zimmerman); loving dad of Donald (Kym) and Kristofer (Betsy); cherished papa of Gretchen, Elise and Kate; dear son of the late Donald A. and Lorraine (nee Williams); caring step-son of Carl Long; kind brother of Sandra (John) Hemmi and fond uncle of many. Memorials visitation 12:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, would be appreciated.
