Obituary for Grace Richardson
Grace Gertrude Mangan Richardson, 96, of Schaumburg, IL passed away on April 7, 2023. Grace was born on July 15, 1926 in Chicago, IL to her parents Bruno and Irene (nee Perham) Borowski. During her life-time, she lived in Wheeling, Schaumburg, Brooksville, Florida and for the last three years, she resided at the Sunrise of Schaumburg.
In 1948 Grace married Joseph Mangan. He passed away in 1978. Grace married Robert Richardson in 1982 who passed away in 1999.
Grace is the beloved mother to Karen (Michael) Zivic, Kenneth (Diane) Mangan and step-mother to Kathy (David) Keenan, Robert (Beth) Richardson, Gerald (Jean) Richardson, Thomas Richardson, and Joyce (George) Shylapin; loving grandmother to Kristin, Lauren, Kevin, Kelly, Jeremy, Becky, Meghanne, Ryan, RJ, Sara, Sarah, Claire, Molly, Chloe, Simone, Lily, and Nicholas; cherished great-grandmother to Tyler, Emily, Sylvia, Mary Frances, Fletcher, Penelope, Gabrielle, Theodore, William, Myles, Annika and Ian; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Irene Borowski, her husbands, Joseph Mangan and Robert Richardson, her son, Thomas Mangan, granddaughter, Katie Brekke and her sister, Geraldine Jensen.
Grace loved life and enjoyed living to the fullest. She has many friends and belonged to the Red Hats. She was an avid golfer and could be found playing Bridge or Mahjong. Grace enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, playing cards and games. She loved to travel and took many vacations and cruises. But she truly loved her family more than anything.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 3-8 pm at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. Streamwood, IL 60107. Prayers Tuesday 9:15a.m. at the funeral home then we will go in procession for the 10:00 am mass at St. Marcelline Catholic Church, 822 Springinsguth Rd. Schaumburg, IL. Burial will be private.
