Obituary for James Campbell

James F. Campbell, 64, a lifelong resident of Mount Prospect, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020. Beloved son of the late Robert and the late Mildred (nee Havel) Campbell; dear brother of the late Robert, the late Joseph (Barbara), and the late William; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews; cherished friend to many. James was an avid Chicago sports fan and especially loved the Chicago White Sox and Bears. He also loved the outdoors and adorning his yard, and really enjoyed relaxing in this space with friends and family. James played softball for many years, a skill and love that was passed down from his father. He played 12” softball for the Brew Crew, Wizards, and Jukes, and 16” with the Stooges, enjoying over 20 championships over the years. He was a power hitter and hit all the fields, was known to be the best hitter on all his teams, and was the epitome of a great first baseman - #6 forever. Visitation Tuesday, December 22 from 10:30am until time of Mass 11:30am at St. Matthew Catholic Church 1005 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg. Interment St. Michael the Archangel.
