Obituary for James Famartino

James Francis Famartino, 74, (9-28-1946) died unexpectedly at his Schaumburg home on April 2, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife Anne Marie Famartino (nee Miller), who he shared 44 years of marriage; and sons Anthony Famartino, (Kira Izzo) and James Famartino (Clara Iglesias). Also grandchildren Siena and Anthony Jr. Famartino.

Jim was born and raised on the southside of Chicago. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Julia (nee Biondo) Famartino. He is survived by siblings Michael Famartino, Judy Skala (Tom) and Robert Famartino.
Jim attended Harrison High School and then served in the army during the Viet Nam War. He worked for Illinois Bell for 28 years as a Project manager and retired 2008.

Jim was an enthusiastic bowler and also loved fishing. He was an avid Chicago sports fan, and a longtime member of the Sons of Italy. Jim will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who loved to vacation with family in the Dells. He also was a beloved brother-in-law and uncle to the large Miller family.

A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, April 9th from 3:00p.m. until time of memorial service 8:00 pm. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. (630) 289-8054.
