Obituary for Jerry Albamonte

Jerry Albamonte, 82, passed away September 1, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 61 years Dianne; daughter Susan (Jim), sons Michael (Heather) and Phillip (Mary Kay); his grandchildren Christina, Nichole, Meghan, Haley and Anthony; brother Tom (Mary Ann); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jerry served in the Marine Reserves, and later in life, the Naval Reserves serving on an aircraft carrier as a fireman and repairing black boxes. Jerry's career was a varied on, owning three family businesses in all throughout his life, including an automotive body shop, mobile sandblasting service, and later, a home repair and remodeling company. He could build and fix anything and often did, but his first passion was cars. He enjoyed restoring a '47 Ford and a 1937 Buick while helping his kids with their go carts, dirt bikes and car projects. He was an avid motorcyclist - owning 8 bikes and riding in many charity runs including the Sturgis Ride. He also loved airplanes and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and a pilot of small private airplanes.
Jerry had many varied hobbies throughout his life. He and his wife Dianne loved to travel, driving all around the country; especially the West and Southwest. They were involved in barbershop quartet singing competitions. They enjoyed dining and trying different cuisines. They also collected antique juke boxes and slot machines together. Jerry also loved fishing, studying and talking about history, as well as collecting and repairing antique guns. While living in Wisconsin, he became a volunteer fireman and a member of the Snowmobile Club and its President. Jerry and Dianne believed in experiencing everything, at least once.
Jerry was a quiet and proud man whose family ALWAYS came first. He always took time to help others, and he possessed a sharp, wicked sense of humor which ALWAYS kept everyone laughing with his jokes and stories !
Jerry will be missed by many people.
