Joanne Ruskuls, 71, of Carpentersville died December 12, 2023. Joanne was the beloved wife of Hipolito Silva; loving mother of Ramona Ruskuls and Mathew (Yazmine) Ruskuls; proud grandmother of Denae Ruskuls; dear sister of Thomas Rossano, fond sister in law of Jesse Silva, Esperanza Silva, Manuela Silva and Ignacio Silva.

Joanne, a natural entertainer, found joy in bringing happiness to others through her music, art, writing, cooking, and humor. Raised in Niles, IL, she attended Maine East High School in Park Ridge. After graduating, Joanne spent her early twenties with Franzen Bros. Circus, touring the U.S. as a clown and circus organist, spreading smiles far and wide.

In later years, she embraced entrepreneurship, running her own caregiving business and assisting her husband in landscaping and seal-coating. Despite these diverse pursuits, Joanne's most cherished moments were spent with family and friends, including her church community at Carpenters House Community Church in Carpentersville. Her faith held great significance, evident not only in Sunday services but also in her regular attendance at bible studies and potlucks, where she shared joy and love with everyone she met. Joanne's absence will be deeply felt by those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held after the holidays. Details will be shared soon.
