Kevin Wright died November 13, 2023. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Ginny, and his sister, Jessica (Phil). He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and uncle to cats. He will be deeply missed.
Kevin earned his Bachelor's degree at Valparaiso University and his Master's degree at University of Illinois Springfield. He was an incredibly talented and dedicated civil servant working with budgets and bonds for the State of Illinois, Cook County, and, finally, his beloved City of Chicago.
Kevin was a lifelong tinkerer and unofficial tech support to his parents and grandmother. He loved the Chicago Cubs and the city of Chicago as a whole. He delighted in laughing at his own terrible jokes and listening to Taylor Swift.
Kevin devoted himself to volunteer work with a plethora of organizations. He worked most with Greater Chicago Food Depository, driving the Lunch Bus in the summer and celebrating his birthdays by organizing friends for a volunteer shift. He also worked with other food banks and had a personal goal to volunteer at a local food bank whenever he travelled. He supported and volunteered with so many organizations, we're unable to list them all, but he worked most with Greater Chicago Food Depository (chicagosfoodbank.org) and Sarah's Circle (sarahs-circle.org).
Graveside services will be held Tuesday November 21, 2023 at 1:00pm at Mt. Emblem Cemetery 520 East Grand Ave. Elmhurst (Meet at the office)
In lieu of flowers, please celebrate Kevin by donating to one of his favorite organizations and telling a bad joke to your loved ones
