Obituary for Leopold Stroczynski

Leopold Stroczynski, 92, of Bloomingdale and formerly of Addison; husband of Josephine, nee Kosut; father of Chris (Dale) Tolemy, John (late Michelina "Mickey"), Vicki (Ron) Schwarz and Mitch (Cabrini); grandfather of Adam (Priscilla), Brandon (Heather), Jennifer, Kristin (Dan) Rispens, Leo, Carl, Sara, Marisha and Guy (Kathy); great grandfather of Winter, Revin, Hudson, Theo, Griffin, Laura, Katie and the late Noah. Brother of the late John (late Helena) and the late Emilia (late Joe) Wasko. Leopold came from a generation where hard work was a part of life. At the age of 15, he was captured by the Nazi's and taken to a labor camp. He was fortunate enough to escape and he unofficially joined the U.S. Army. He came to the United States at the age of 23 to start a new life. He met his wife to be, Josephine, at a popular dance hall in Chicago. Their faith, love of dance, family and hard work kept them together for 69 years. He supported his family by being a dedicated employee, for over 50 years, at R C Coil Spring Manufacturing Co. in Glendale Heights. Visitation Monday, January 13th, at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 South Roselle Rd. (1/2 mile South of Rosellle Rd.) Roselle from 9:00 am until time of prayers 10:30 am. proceeding to St. Walter Catholic Church. Mass 11:00 am. Cremation will be private following mass. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross would be appreciated.
