Obituary for LeRoy Zaehler
LeRoy Charles Zaehler, 80, passed away on April 14, 2022.
He was born in Chicago on August 17, 1941 to LeRoy John Zaehler and Cecilia (Dassinger) Zaehler. Upon highschool graduation he joined the U.S Air Force and served from 1961-1964. Lee was retired from the U.S Postal Service as a mechanic. He is a 4th degree Knight of Columbus at St. John the Evangelist. He was an active pinochle player at the Hanover Township Senior Center.
LeRoy is survived by his wife Carol (Breman) and son Matthew. Also his sisters Nancy, Jesse (Ron) and Kathleen (Zaehler) Fernandez, nephews and niece Kevin Liekis, Ken Liekis, Beckie Jesse, Ron Jesse, and Eric Fernandez and Kieth Fernandez, along with many cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Dorothy Liekis.
In lieu of flower donations to St. John the Evangelist Church for construction or Hanover Township food pantry would be appreciated.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 21, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home at 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd) in Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Friday April 22, 2022 10:15 to St. John Evangelist Catholic Church, 502 S. Park Blvd, Streamwood, Illinois 60107. Mass 11:00a.m. Burial will be private. (630)289-8054.
