Obituary for Linda Link

Linda Marie Link, 72, of Carol Stream, legendarily known to all as “G” ripped off her last clearance tag on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Ever the bargain seeker, Linda left behind a long list of mourners. JoAnne of the Fabric Family, Michael Art Craft and Hob Lobby to name a few. Community Thrift and Goodwill have sent their heartfelt condolences. Linda was an avid collector of all things big and small. She lived by the philosophy that if one was good then five was better. Whether it be candles or clothes she was always on the hunt for a great bargain.
On a more serious note, Linda worked for Ecolab (formerly known as Nalco Chemical Company) retiring after 28 years of service. She began her career as a dishwasher, cleaning laboratory glassware. Linda worked as she put herself through night school to earn the title of Lab Technologist in the Boiler Chemical Department. She contributed to the research that resulted in the awarding of 5 different US Patents. Linda loved being behind her sewing machine. For a brief time after her retirement and before her illness lovingly sewed angel gowns for Marlene’s Angel Babies, an organization she held dear to her heart.

Cherished and loving wife of John who preceded her in death in 1985. Precious Mother of the late Kevin (Jean), Lisa (Brenda) and Michelle Link. Dearest second Mother to David DeGrace, David Corban, Michael Ludwig and Doug Williams and Marge Smith. Beloved Grandmother of Elizabeth Hartwig and Caitlin Link (Mitch Irwin). Magnificently adored Great-Grandmother of DeAnna Marie. Treasured sister of the late Mary Saunders (late Thomas Saunders) Stephen Pfundstein and the late Kevin Pfundstein. Fond sister-in-law of Michael (Kathleen) Link. Loving Aunt of Christopher Link (Stephen Gruhn), Brian Saunders (Ashely) and Courtney Link (Alvand Normandi)
