Obituary for Lucy Cortez
Visitation for Lucy O. Cortez nee Ochoa, of Streamwood for 55 years, will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 2:00 - 9:00p.m. Funeral Service 6:30p.m. Services and burial will take place in Carrizo Springs, Texas.
Lucy was a loving mom, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was blessed with a large family that cared for her deeply.
She enjoyed being part of family gatherings, sporting and school events. She like playing the lottery, a dice game called "Gagootz", going to the casino and talking and visiting with her friends.
Lucy attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Streamwood until she was unable, however her faith never faltered. She had a strong belief in God and prayer.
Lucy is the beloved wife of the late Apolinar (Paul); loving mother of Edna Cortez, Frank Cortez, Paul (Maggie) Cortez, Debbie (Roy) Montemayor, Brenda (Mick) Sayre and the late Richard; cherished grandmother of Erika (Michael Pratt) Cortez, Heather (Dither) Pacheco, Richard (Jenny) Cortez, Alyson (fiancé Payton Schiff) Montemayor, Brandon Montemayor, Michael (Amanda) Sayre and Matthew (Rachel Arend) Sayre; proud great grandmother of Elizabeth "Liz", Harper, Jordyn, Michael "M.J.", and Zack; dear sister of Rosie O. (David) Flores, Albert Ochoa and the late Nino Aguilar, Paul Ochoa, Simon Ochoa, Tommy Ochoa, Gloria Swisher and Benny Ochoa; fond aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. (630)289-8054.
