Obituary for Mangal Sangha

Mangal Singh Sangha passed away peacefully on December 11, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Mangal S. Sangha is survived by his caring wife, Sukhjit K. Sangha, his son and daughter-in-law Amandeep S. Sangha and Taran K. Sangha, his daughter and son-in-law Sandip K. Chahal and Anupaul S. Chahal, and his grandchildren Saajan S. Chahal and Saiva K. Chahal.

Mangal S. Sangha was born on November 12, 1942 in Kala Sanghian, Punjab, India to Surain Singh and Jai Kaur. After moving to the United States of America in 1970, he devoted his life to teaching special education students in the Chicago area, including over 30 years at Hubbard High School.

Despite being an only child, he was never alone as he was surrounded by dear family and friends throughout his journey in life. His unforgettable idioms, meaningful sayings and shared memories will survive in the hearts and minds of so many of those he crossed paths with from all corners of the world.

A funeral is scheduled for Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 3:00-5:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home at 950 S. Bartlett Rd., Bartlett, IL, with a prayer service to follow at Sikh Religious Society at 1280 W. Winnetka St., Palatine, IL. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mangal S. Sangha’s life.
