Obituary for Margaret Barnard (Loveless)

Margaret Arlene Barnard nee Loveless, of Schaumburg, IL, age 94, wife of the late Frank A. Barnard, Sr., died January 10, 2020. She was born March 18, 1925 in Greene County, Iowa to the late Emory and Vivian Loveless nee Pulley. Arlene is survived by her children Carolyn (Ray) Leger, Barbara, Frank, Jr.and Emily (Ken) Plach. Loving grandmother of Simone (Jordan) Crain, Adam (Joni), Corey and Colin Plach; Marcel, Adrian and Monica Barnard; loving great grandmother of Dylan and Hunter Plach; dear sister of Lois Loveless and Iola Mae Zimbeck; fond aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was a graduate of Lohrville High School In Lohrville, Iowa (1942); Iowa State Teachers College (1943); and Roosevelt University (1967). After teaching 2 years in a one-room schoolhouse in Calhoun County, Arlene moved to Chicago, IL and became a teletype operator for American Airlinges in 1945 and there, met the love of her life, Frank Barnard, Sr. They married on November 11, 1950. they moved to Bellwood, IL and raised their 4 children. In 1967, Arlene began teaching in Bellwood School District #88 and taught for 25 years before retiring in 1989. She enjoyed traveling and visited 6 of the 7 continents! When Arlene retired, she moved to Schaumburg, IL and spent her retirement years enjoying her grandchildren, water exercise and continuing to travel. Arlene was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:00a.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church (PCA) 903 E. Nerge Rd. Roselle. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory.
