Patricia Ann Carlson (nee Szalapski), 80, passed away on July 1, 2021. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Patrica was the beloved wife of Bill Carlson for 56 years; loving mother of Dan (Penny) Carlson and Danice (Michael) McGrath; proud grandmother of Kate, Lauren, and Ben; cherished sister of Jacqueline Szalapski; dear sister-in-law of Pat (the late Perry) Hellum. She will also be missed by her little dog, Chico.

Patricia was a passionate educator. She taught first grade at St. John the Evangelist Catholic School for 42 years and taught ESL at Elgin Community College for over 30 years. She was a life-long learner with a tenacious and generous spirit.

Visitation will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6th, at Countryside Funeral Home in Streamwood, IL. This will be followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Ansgar Church in Hanover Park. She will be laid to rest at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine. A luncheon will follow.
