Obituary for Paul Burge

Paul Burge passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022, at age 68. Paul was born in Evanston to Byron Burge and Valrhea (Feeley) Burge and grew up in Wilmette.

Paul was the beloved husband of Wei Pan-Burge who he considered his soulmate and the true love of his life. He was also the beloved brother of Maryanne Colter; brother in law of Paul and Yvonne Ng, uncle of Tommy Pan (and family), Summer Pan, and Teddy Pan, Wenny Ng Noha (and family), Harold Ng, Jessica Pan (and family). He loved to spend time with family and play golf with his friends. When a stroke limited Paul’s activity, he loved watching sports and old Western movies with his loyal animal companion, Shao Hu, by his side.

Paul spent 36 years on the Palatine Police Department, and was an active member of the Willow Creek Church. With his work as a policeman and as a member of the Willow Creek Security and Care Center staff, Paul was able to live his calling to help others. The word most often used to describe Paul was “nice”, and was always known for putting of others before himself. Paul was a natural and engaging story-teller; leaving the listener laughing, crying, intrigued, or surprised.

Visitation Thursday, December 1st, 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 South Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood. Funeral Friday, December 2nd, service 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by burial at Memorial Park Cemetery 9900 Gross Point Rd. Skokie, Il.
