Obituary for Ralph Ruiz

Ralph Ruiz was surrounded by his family when he passed away peacefully on the morning of May 22, 2022. Ralph was born October 14, 1948 in Chicago to the late Rafael and Edith (nee Broom). He was a devoted and caring husband of 50 years to Diane (nee Panek), a loving father to Michelle (Marc) Mulvey, and Michael, and his dog Ivy, Pa to his grandsons, Matthew and Michael, brother to Tony (Diane), brother-in-law to Nancy (Dario) Zdrilich and uncle to four.

Ralph was a resident of Hanover Park for 44 years and worked as a machinist prior to his retirement. He was always a very handy guy who knew how to build things and do work around the house. More importantly, he imparted this upon his children, making sure that they learned how to do things and be self-sufficient.

Ralph was quite the outdoorsman. He loved taking his family camping and trips to the Northwoods, where he enjoyed fishing and boating on the lakes. Of course, he had a legendary story about the big catch that almost made into the boat. He loved going to see his grandsons’ baseball games and spending time with his family.

He also was one to be into fun things. He was known to race RC cars down the street, and when it came to 4th of July celebrations with fireworks, it was go big or go home!
