STREAMWOOD – Family and friends of Ronald S. Kirshenbaum, 81, will gather for a visitation Saturday, August 6 from 11:00am-12:00pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 12:00pm at Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood, IL. Born October 22, 1940, in Chicago to the late Carl and Celia (nee Chaiken), Ronald faithfully served his country from July 24, 1961, in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1967, receiving recognition for his expertise in marksmanship. Following his time in the service, Ron worked many years as an elevator mechanic. He also enjoyed several hobbies, including camping, wood burning, journaling, and building miniature dollhouses and train sets. In his most recent years, he found companionship in his loving toy poodle, Maude.
Ron passed away peacefully July 26, 2022, at his home in Hoffman Estates. Ron was the husband of Darlene; loving father of Kenneth (Sherry) Kirshenbaum, Karyn (Jonathan) Fowler, Kim (Jason) Dalton, Stacy Carter, Jennifer (Benjamin) Gordon, Jacqueline Kirshenbaum (Charles Edwards), Nathan (Deny) Virág, and Jessica (Katie) Kirshenbaum; fond grandpa of 8, beloved brother of Marilyn and Janet; cherished friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
