Salvatore "Sam" R. Gius, 84, of Carol Stream and formerly of Bloomingdale and South side of Chicago; husband of the late Grace, nee Fina; father of Joseph, Louis (Kathleen) and Michelle; papa of Nicholas (Rose), Nathan, Aiden and Caitlin; grand papa of Leo; brother of the late Bernadino; survived by a brother and sister in law and many nieces and nephews. Sam loved life. He was a dedicated employee at Stanadyne Corp. for 35 years of his working life. He enjoyed spending time with his family - boating on the chain of lakes and on Lake Michigan. Halloween was his favorite holiday. He was active in his kid's sports, coaching baseball and football. Sam also liked to hunt and fish. More than anything his family and extended family meant the world to him. Memorial visitation Friday, April 26th, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 S. Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Funeral Saturday, we will all meet at Corpus Christi Church,1415 W Lies Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188 for Sam's memorial mass at 9:30 a.m. Following mass he will be buried at St. Isidore Cemetery next to his wife, Grace.
