Sherri Lynn Newquist Gray, 62, passed away April 17, 2021. Sherri was the beloved sister of Nancy J. (Michael) Donahue and Janet L. Newquist; loving aunt of Amanda L. Boraca and Michelle Donahue; cherished daughter of the late Richard and Jane Newquist; dear cousin of Cheryl and Susan Walding; devoted life long partner of John Halla; loving stepmother of Dawn Gage. Sherri will be missed by many friends especially Robert Miller and Kathy Cook, and her fur companions; Bet The Bucks, City Slicker, Baxter, Buddy, Scitech and Hoss.
She graduated from West Aurora High School in 1977 and from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI with a Bachelor's Degree of Arts, Physical Education and Health.
Sherri had a love of horses, showing American Saddlebreds most of her life. Her greatest love and accomplishment was her career with United Airlines. She graduated from United flight training in 1989. Her career of 25 years had many accomplishments and accolades. She was a Senior/Lead flight Attendant; promoted to a leadership role with accountability for supervising, coaching and Mentoring a team of flight attendants in all areas of customer service, sales and safety for domestic and international flights. Specialized in service for business class on International flights. Received recognition for service during an emergency situation; She received 40+ Positive Recognitions (Orchid Letters) from customers. She received "Flight Attendant of the year Dedicated to Service Award".
Memorial visitation Friday, April 30, 4:00pm until time of memorial service 6:30pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Road) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Cremation was private at Countryside Crematory.
