Virginia M. Rau(nee Palm), 93, of Elk Grove Village for 59 years, passed away peacefully Friday, January 17. Virginia was an avid gardener and bingo player. Her favorite job was being a mother and later "Garmy" to her 4 grandchildren. As her family states, she was everything a devoted and loving wife, mother, and "Garmy" should be. Loving wife of the late Howard C. Rau for 64 years; beloved mother of Laurie(Scott) Wright, Donna Rau, Howard(Danielle) Rau and the late William Rau; cherished Garmy of Ashley and Danielle Wright and Tyler and Brandon Rau; dear sister of Rosemary(the late Alfred) Zemke, Patricia(Paul) Mertes, Frances(the late Walter) Schmidt, the late Adele(Robert) Yundt, the late Delores(Donald) Frantz, Sr., the late Donald Palm, the late Herbert(the late Shirl) Palm, the late Robert(the late Elsie) Palm, the late Kerchival(the late Rosemarie) Palm, the late Marguerite(the late Ed) Rau, and the late Katherine(the late Dale) Darsch; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday, January 20 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Rd.(1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.), Roselle.
