William "Bill" Appel, 68 of Bartlett for over 15 years, died Monday, August 26, 2019. Born August 10, 1951 in Chicago. Bill was a Cook County Sheriff for over 30 years having retired as a lieutenant. Bill was a member of the Big Timber Schutzhiund German Shepherd training club. He enjoyed hot rods and owned a 2004 Mercury Marauder. He will be missed by his family and friends. Beloved husband of 40 years to Carole (Nee Ripley); loving son of the late William and Andrea (nee Doria); cherished brother of Stephanie (Angel) Rosales and Michael (Joy) Appel; dear uncle of 7 nieces and nephews and great uncle of 3; proud owner of Lola and Mozart and friend to many. Visitation 3:00p.m. until time of service 7:00p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory. 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Following services, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.
