Obituary for William Brose

William "Bill" Brose, 92, of Bartlett and formerly of Addison; devoted husband to the late Celina; dear father of Bill (Dorolyn), Janet (Ted) Brahm, Belinda Mahon, Brian and the late Carey; loving grandfather of Kimberly, Carey Jr (Lauren) Brose, Diana (Erik) Miller, Mike Brahm, Katherine Brose and Michael Brose; caring great grandfather of Ben, Logan and Nathan; fond brother of the late Marilyn, Trudy and Irene. Bill was a dedicated sheet metal worker for Union Local 73. His upbringing and his work as a sheet metal worker formed a hard nosed, tough outer shell around Bill. However, deep down he had a heart of gold. He could be tough on the one's closest to him and yet treat a total stranger like they were his best friend. He took excellent care of his wife, 24 hours/day, seven days/week for 7 years until her last breath. He was social, generous - to a fault, liked to laugh but guarded his true emotions. He was known to try his luck at the riverboats and casinos...occasionally. He could swear with the best of them and flip on the charm and be a true gentleman. He was an impeccable dresser and knew who all the top designers were. He didn't look his age and was proud of it. His eyes told you what he was thinking without ever having to say anything. He was a complicated person. He made the world a better place and will be missed by many who knew him. Visitation Wednesday 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Service Thursday 10:00 am. Burial Mt. Hope Cemetery.
