Obituary for Alexander Contreras-Rogers

Alexander “Alex” Julian Contreras-Rogers, 25, of Hanover Park. Born October 3, 1991 in Winfield. Alex was a proud 2016 graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign. He was well read and enjoyed being involved with medical research which was a major focus of Alex’s while attending U of I. He enjoyed music and basketball and was a true friend of Bill W. He will be missed by his family and friends. Beloved son of Gabriel Contreras and the late Heather Rogers-Vargas; loving brother of Jesse (fiancé Breena Bruno) Rogers, Isabel (Tyler)Vargas, Gabriel, Joey, Jessica and Alicia Contreras; cherished grandson of Tim and Christine (nee Indermark) Diamond, Gabriel Sr and Blanca Contreras, Richard (Cecilia) Rogers and adored great-grandson of Ellen (the late Roger) Indermark and Glen and Betty Rogers; dear nephew of Amy, Carmen and several other aunts, uncles and cousins and kind friend of Romeo, Ivan, Tony and Brandon. Visitation 2:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. with a prayer service 5p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Following service cremation at the Countryside Crematory. Inurnment at Mt Hope Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to University of Illinois College of Medicine: Research, http://www.medicine.uic.edu/research, specifically to the substance abuse program would be appreciated.
