Obituary

On October 21st, Art Buehring passed in the hands of his beloved family. Art graduated from the University of Illinois' School of Engineering with a BS in '72 and MS in '74. His favorite hobbies were eating remarkably slow to give him plenty of time to impart wisdom at the family dinner table, bowling (poorly), golfing (even worse) and cheering unimaginably loud at his sons' volleyball matches (even during quiet timeouts). Achievements of note include Fruit of the Loom's 1996 "Triple Crown Award" for longevity, distinguished marks and high-mileage as well as the Lisle metro-area's 1991 "Best Fashioned Push-Broom Mustache" honor. Art may be best remembered for toting newspapers everywhere he went which were never more recent than two presidential administrations prior. He is survived by his devoted wife Melinda of 38 years, two loving lil' bubs David and Daniel, granddaughters Parker and Liv, and brothers Bill and Kurt. We will always love and remember you. (Lovingly composed by Dan). Celebration of life will be held from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. with a service at 2:30p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Benedictine University, 5700 College Rd, Lisle at the Fr Michael Komechak Art gallery located in Kindlon Hall of Learning.

In Loving Memory..it is so hard to grasp these words apply to our long-time friend that we loved as family. The laid back. Quick witted, devoted husband to my dear friend and much. beloved Melinda! My memories include David and Daniel who are the same ages of my sons and who played like brothers
Art was gentle and funny. Loving, kind, and quite brilliant. Art and Melinda, always a team! The fun we had with our sons and have to include Kyle Sanford and her children, Marvin and Kyle..All these people who became family to me in joy and stood by me in sorrow! The.love we shared
The loyalty, the friendship and love.. Art and Melinda stopped by to visit us in Louisville a couple of summers ago and brought our CUBS t-shirts ! I've framed that photo..There we are, standing in our Cubs shirts with Art and Melinda proudly wearing their SOX ! Friends in good times, support during difficult times, and love through the years. Art always, after assessing a situation, could find a way to encourage .. Melinda and his sons, daughter in laws and beautiful granddaughters were his pride and joy. Art told me 2 years ago he was just so lucky.. We were lucky to have had Art. My heart goes out to Melinda and family. Art is in heaven, and at peace. May we toast Art and speak of him always in love so that is Memory is always a blessing!
