Obituary for Eileen Cittadino

Eileen Margaret Cittadino nee Riley

Born: June 24, 1929
Died: February 19, 2009

In remembrance of an absolutely wonderful human being, Eileen was one of eight children born in Chicago Illinois by her parents James and Alma Riley. Coming from a larger family provided many invaluable life lessons that Eileen learned, mastered, and passed on to benefit her family and friends.
During her youth, Eileen grew up on the Southside, attended and graduated from Parker High School in 1947. From early on, she was an avid Chicago Sports fan and was extremely happy when the Bears won the Super Bowl in 1985, and her Southside White Sox won the World Series in 2005. The loyalty to the home town teams was something that she passed on to all of her family.
After graduating high school, she met and married her husband of 60 years Anthony Cittadino on February 19, 1949. During their life together, they had two daughters and three sons. From oldest to youngest Eileen is survived by her children, Bernadette, Joseph (Patty), Jennie (Danny), Sean and Sullivan, her five Grandchildren, Peter Rail, Angela Ziegler (Scott) Benjamin Rail, Tina Keresturi, Sam Rail, and one Great Grandchild Carlos Saavedra. Additionally, she is survived by her twin Sister Irene Boling (George), younger brother Richard Riley, and many nephews, nieces and close family friends that she loved dearly.
While Eileen was a devoted family member to all, she was an accomplished Office Manager and Skilled Seamstress too. Out of the workplace, she was a symbol of excellence in the areas of giving, sacrifice, listening, comforting, motivating, compromise, inner strength, accountability, responsibility and leading by example which is the way she lived her life everyday.
Lastly, Eileen was a fighter which is the way she approached her life until the time of her passing. The last three years were ones that she encountered severe illnesses and faced them head on with a positive attitude. On July 4th 2008, the entire family was able to enjoy a 50 year celebration of Eileen and Tony living in their home together. This celebration was followed by a loving Christmas shared by the entire family too.
On February 19, 2009 Eileen passed peacefully feeling the eternal love of all close to her. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22nd from 2:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greanmeadows Blvd.(at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Monday 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Memory Garden Cemetery.
