Obituary for Gloria Engelskirchen (McCarthy)

Gloria Engelskirchen passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 20, 2018. She was born in Oak Park, IL on July 12, 1927 to Richard and Lillian McCarthy and grew up in the Chicago area. Gloria married Arthur Engelskirchen on November 20, 1948. They remained happily married until his death in 2006. They moved to the Dallas area in 1990 in order to be close to their grandchildren and later settled in Frisco, TX. Gloria and Art were members of the First United Methodist Church in Frisco and they enjoyed volunteering at Rogers Elementary school.

Gloria was beloved by all. She is survived by her son, Jim Engelskirchen, and his wife, Suzie, grandsons Adam Engelskirchen and Eric Engelskirchen (fiancé Danielle), step-grandsons Brent Cormier (wife Angie) and Lane Cormier (wife Alishia) and her great-grandchildren Conner, Cadence, Hunter and Brylee. She is also survived by her nephews Don Fachet and Bill Steve, nieces Lynn Fachet, Karan Fachet, Connie Lavin and their families.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Elm Lawn Memorial Park 401 East Lake Street, Elmhurst, IL on February 3, 2018 at 10:30 am. A Memorial Service will also be held at Parkview Retirement Community 7450 Stonebrook Parkway, Frisco, TX on February 10, 2018 at 2 pm.
