Distant Cousins: Lindsay & Nicole in Disneyland

I am devastated to hear that my little cousin has passed away. Although through her adult years, we were not close (due to the distance), I have a great story about how special she was as a little girl. Uncle Chuck brought Lindsay and Colin to California to visit Disneyland. I came along (because of course who wouldn't want to jump at a chance at Disneyland and spending time with family I rarely saw). I was about 16 years old at the time, and the first day at Disneyland was not so fun. The second day, Colin and Uncle Chuck decided to not go. Lindsay was so sad (she was about 6 years old at the time) because she wanted to go again. So...we went. And, that little girl and I had a BLAST. We rode on so many rides and saw so many Disney characters that I knew this was a special day for us both. I won't ever forget this cute, innocent little girl at the Happiest Place on Earth. Her face lighted up at every Disney turn, and I admit that I haven't felt that fulfilled at Disneyland until I took my own stepdaughter and son there a few years ago. It was such a special time for the two cousins who barely knew each other. My sincere condolences to Uncle Chuck, Aunt Nancy, Colin, and the rest of the family. My heart is broken with the family. Special prayers are given to the baby girl and father, and I hope that we can see that little girl's face light up in wonder and love as I saw Lindsay's did so many years ago.
