Obituary for Raymond Walter

Raymond F Walter, 87, of Streamwood, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Born March 18, 1924 in Evanston. He was the som of Max and Elsie (nee Trefz). A veteran of WWII having served in the Army. Known for having a good sense of humor, Raymond enjoyed bowling and carpentry but his true passion was spending time with his family.
Survivors include daughters Mary (Jesse) Cardenas, Judy Bottoms and Susan Townsend, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elinor (nee McCarthy), twin brother Larry, brother Robert, and sister Irene Berringer.
Visitation Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at barrington Rd), Streamwood. Funeral Friday 9:15a.m. going to St. John the Evangelist, Mass 10:00a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
