Obituary for Richard "Dick" Ahbe

Services for Richard "Dick" E. Ahbe of Bloomingdale for 28 years are private. He is the beloved husband of Dorothy "Dottie" nee Rebokas; cherished son of the late Edwin and Viola Ahbe nee Vallo; dear brother of Susan (Philip Smith) Ahbe. Dick is also reunited with his faithful companion "Petee".

Dick was an awesome storytelling and kept you intrigued with his tidbits of knowledge. Movie & TV trivia was something that Dick was proficient at delighting others with his extensive memory.
He was passionate about his workshop, particularly his vast collection of tools and ladders.
Dick was always willing to help anyone with anything, anywhere and if you ever need a tool, he was the man. His Damson Plum brandy was a smooth as he was and enjoyed by all.
He was enthralled with his VW Golf R, which he affectionately called the “Red Racer.”
Dick carried on his dad’s creative ability with his wizardry of woodworking.

Dick & Dottie spent forty years being a loving, caring team who traveled and loved life to its fullest. During their retirement, they thoroughly enjoyed being free to do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted.

"A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot and realize how blessed you really are with what you have."
