Obituary for Richard "Dick" Brummel Sr.

Richard “Dick” D. Brummel, Sr. of South Elgin; beloved husband of 49 years to Karen (nee Buckeridge); loving father of Richard (Irma) of Elgin, JoEllyn (Kevin) Wetzel of South Elgin, Scott (Kerri) of South Elgin and Debra (Fiance Jim Nutof) Barr of South Elgin; cherished grandfather of 9; proud great grandfather of 3; dear brother of Jean (Clarence) Ragel, Frank (Sharon), Janice Parr, Dennis (Suzanne) and the late Ralph, Florence (the late Andrew) Stopka, Collette (Gordon Beach); son of the late Ralph and Margaret Brummel; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Marmion, Class of 1958; a retired Major of 22 years from the U.S. Army and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas More giving communion to the sick. Retired GAB insurance claims adjustor and a original member of the South Elgin Parks and Recreation Board.

Visitation Sunday, November 20th 3:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 95 S. Gilbert St., (at Middle St.). Visitation Monday 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 215 Thomas More Dr., Elgin. Interment Mt. Hope. Donations to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Rd, Barrington Il 60010 or Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation,811 West Evergreen Ave , Ste 204, Chicago, IL 60642 would be appreciated.
