Obituary for Richard Mack

Richard A. Mack, 49, of Streamwood, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home. Born January 7, 1968 in Chicago. Richard earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration with distinction. Richard spent most of his career in executive management positions in sales and engineering, including Vice President of Global New Product Development and Engineering at a global design engineering organization. During his career, Richard also pursued his entrepreneurial spirit by starting and operating his own company for several years. Richard also embraced the lighter side of life, including socializing with friends, scuba diving, bicycle riding, traveling, attending concerts, and photography. Richard was an active participant with the Living Well Cancer Resource Center and cherished his time with the support group members.
Richard will be missed by his family and friends. Beloved son of Karin (nee Klemm) and the late Johannes; loving brother of Christina; cherished nephew of Alice (the late Arnold) Schiebinger and Charlotte (Helmut) Hecht; fond cousin of Manuela (Gunnar) Oppermann, Maximilian Oppermann, Wade Underwood, the late Karen Brown and John Samocki; proud grandson of the late Fred and Marie Klemm, Centa Steidl and Johann Mack.
Visitation 4:00 p.m. until time of service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood. Following services cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory. Memorials to the Living Well Cancer Resource Center in Geneva, IL, www.livingwellcrc.org, would be appreciated.
