Obituary for Richard Newman II

For a short time, God gave us the bliss of holding a cloud in our hands. But on Sunday, March 1st, an angel called his name and carried him home to the Lord. Born May 28, 1987, Richard Todd Newman, II was a beautiful, talented and gifted young man who was filled with unconditional love, Devine ingenuity and an infectious smile. Todd could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with a room full of friends. He was an exceptional young man. Todd is loved and is greatly missed by his parents Richard and Rosemary Newman and he will always be an endeared baby brother to his sister, Roget Newman. Todd is the grandson of maternal grandmother, Mary R. Roberson of Salisbury, N.C. and the late Lester S. Roberson. His paternal grandparents are Dazaree Newman of Indianapolis, IN and the late Reverend Doctor T.T. Newman. Todd has four aunts, five uncles, numerous cousins, a plethora of some of the best friends and extended family anyone could wish for. And of course, his beloved dogs, Stinky and Tubby. Todd is a 2005 graduate of Bartlett High School. He was an accomplished athlete, writer and artist and received many awards and recognitions. Todd also attended Indiana University, Bloomington where he received a full scholarship as a student and football player. Todd lettered his sophomore year. A celebration of Todd’s life will be held on Saturday at Christian Tabernacle Church, 100 Park Blvd.. Roselle. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 with celebration services beginning at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richard Todd Newman II Memorial Scholarship Fund, Harris Bank, 590 South Roselle Rd., Schaumburg, Il 60193. This scholarship will be available for any students majoring in art and engineering.
