The "Dorf" incident...

My Uncle Bob was one of the funniest people I ever met. Quiet, but hilarious. His smile was infectious and his greeting of, "What's shakin'?" will forever be ingrained in my memory. One Halloween he got my grandma good. She was handing candy out to the kids and there was a lull in the activity. Her ears perked up when the doorbell rang and she grabbed the bowl of candy and skipped down the stairs. Swinging the door open she stopped dead in her tracks. There, on the porch, was a tiny person. Dressed head to toe in an old prison out fit complete with the stripes and hat. Cautiously she reached into her trove of candy started to hand the "child" his candy. Something was amiss, though. Were his arms really that long and his legs that short? Suddenly the boy shuffled a little towards her, and opening his mouth to reveal a toothless grin, he said, "Trick or Treat!!" Grandma was frightened and threw all of the candy at the "boy". She slammed the door and locked it. Uncle Bob stood up from his perch on the porch, and laughing, knocked on the door to let her know that it was ok it was just Bobby. When he told the story I laughed so hard! He was always taking his teeth out at the drive thru windows to get a reaction. He constantly made me smile and the world a brighter place. He will be missed.
