Obituary for Roy Dooley

Roy Allen Dooley, 77, of Medinah, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his home. Born December 30, 1939 in Alton. Roy was a fun loving individual with a great sense of humor. He loved fishing and boating, especially at the Lake of the Ozarks, and was well known by the neighborhood kids for his homemade ice cream. Most of all he was a man of honor and truth, a man of his word. He will be missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Beloved husband and very best friend for 44 years of Stephanie (nee Zeski); beloved father of the late Tracey Lynn and step-father of Mary Jane (Frank) Mannella; loving grandpa of Nicolette, Antoinette and Dolores; caring son of the late Scherley “Roy” and Mildred Louise (nee Osborne) and fond brother of Arthur, Joseph, James and John Wilson, Donald and Michael Dooley; kind uncle to great many nieces and nephews and a great friend and neighbor to many. Private graveside services are being held at Mt Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
