Obituary for Thomas Keating

Thomas “Tom” E. Keating, 53, of Streamwood for 30 years died Saturday, December 17. 2016. Born March 13, 1963 in Chicago. Tom was a Streamwood Park District Commissioner for 16 years and currently the Vice President of the Park District Board where he was the originator of the Park Districts; “SPDCares” vision. He was a tax CPA and loved volunteering. His family, faith and community were very important to him. He will be missed by many. Beloved hubby and high school sweetheart of Diane (nee Smentek); loving dad of Alex, Austin, Riley and the late Ryan; cherished son of Thomas J. and Carole (nee Gildea); caring brother of Darlene (Brian) McDermott, Kathy (Jeff) Jarr, Kim (Dave) Ehrhardt, Lori (Michael) Brosman and Michael (Cecille); fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Funeral Friday 9:15a.m. to St. John the Evangelist Church, Mass 10:00a.m. Following service cremation at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lurie Children’s Hospital, www.luriechildrens.org or to National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org, would be appreciated.
