Obituary for Ujam Surati

Ujam Surati (Moti), daughter of Damador-dada and Mali-ba Tailor was born in Ankleshwar, India on April 22, 1917. She passed away of natural causes on March 17, 2017.
She was a hard-worker and worked with her late husband in their tailoring business while raising their family. In the 1930’s, she participated in the Salt March Movement that was led by Mahatma Gandhi protesting against the British colonial governments salt monopoly.
Moti was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by so many. She is preceded in death by her husband Chhotalal Surati and their three children Nandgauri, Niru, and Shila. She is survived by four children: Viduben (Thakorlal), Vasant (Saralaben), Ramilaben (Thakorlal), and Bharat (Hemaben), nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Sunday,March 19 from 9:00am until time of cremation 11:00am at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd.(at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett. Info (630)289-7575.
